On both boards, centrepiece with 'R' to its left and 'B' to its right, and a gold-tooled fillet at edge, as seen also on Canterbury: Cathedral Library, W/K-3-60. On that volume, and the identification of the initials as those of Richard Bancroft, see James Carley's discussion. As on that printed book, there are the stubs (here merely residual) of cloth ties close to fore-edge on both boards. That volume (also printed in 1606) and ours were part of a single binding campaign, and share tabs from the same manuscript.
