One leaf (MS. 363 fo. 4) contains the beginning of the text, with a handsome initial L: at the foot is an inscription in a sprawling hand of s. xvi, partly cut off: 'Iste liber pertenet ad me Iohannem ( . . . . ) et ad fratrem ( . . . . )'. The leaf ends with the words 'fuerant. priusquam' (capitula of bk. 1, cap. 15): the second leaf, now missing, began therefore with the words 'in semetipsis'.
