The homepage of this site has been trailing for some time the arrival of some new fragments. The Guardian has today (Monday 24th August 2026) announced their existence: they are at St Peter Port on the Channel Island of Guernsey. 

As the journalist, Dalya Alberge, explains, the discoveries were made by the staff of the Guernsey Island Archives, specifically Callum Tostevin-Hall. The identification of their texts and history was undertaken as a collaboration between Professor Tamara Atkin (The Queen's College, Oxford) and Dr David Rundle. Details of the fragments will be uploaded on Lost Manuscripts.

A workshop and public event, including a display of the fragments, will take place on 10th September 2026 on the island. It will be hosted by the Island Archives at supported by the AHRC's Impact Accelerator Account at the University of Kent. You can book seats via Eventbrite.
