Lost Manuscript

Babel MS 28

No section of text from this manuscript is presently known but we can surmise something of its character from the two fragments that do survive. Each is a strip the width of the bottom margin and the ruling visible shows that the layout was bicolumnar. Each fragment also includes marginalia, in a script with anglicana 'r', and written in plummet: the topics noted by this reader -- the punishment for theft, and an aspect of inheritance -- reveal that this must have been a legal manuscript.
